Chevron Barracuda
location: Sipadan Island, MalaysiaThese barracudas are about 3-4 feet long. They are very agile swimmers and would swim in a school of hundreds in a tornado-like formation. This photo was shot after they broke off from their tornado-like formation and swam towards us.
Queen Angelfish Juvenile

Christmas Tree Worm
location: Hollywood, FLWhile it looks like a tree, this marine life is actually a worm. You may have seen them on the big screen in the movie Avatar. Like in the movies, when it senses danger, it will withdraw into its tube for protection. Unlike the movies, the Christmas tree worm is only about an inch tall.
Purplemouth Moray
location: Hollywood, FLMorays look menacing but they are not about to attack. Since they breathe through their mouth, the mouth constantly opens showing their fangs. They will bite if they are threatened or if they think your hand is some kind of fish due to bad eyesight.
Sharpnose Puffer
location: Hollywood, FLNot all puffers have spines to cover their body. This puffer is about 2-3 inches long. It is not a shy fish as it approached me while I was photographing a sailfin blenny.
Common Octopus
location: Phil Foster Park, Riviera Beach, FLThis octopus is tiny. The head is about half an inch. This was shot in about 5 feet of water. I was exiting the dive when I saw something move within the shell. Upon close inspection, I was thrilled to see it was a juvenile octopus.
Sailfin Blenny
location: Hollywood, FLSailfin blennies are very shy fishes and will remain in their hole. However, during mating season, the male will swim out to flick its dorsal fin open and close in rapid pace to attract a mate.
Yosemite Moonbow

Great Blue Heron Cleared For Takeoff

Butterflies Montage
